I am still committed to helping you with your ideas and plans for starting a faux painting business.
The first question I usually get is ” How do I get business”? Not… what do I need to do to be legal or how much does it cost to be in business?
So… I’ll address the ” How do I get business”??? question.
This is tough… as every location in the country is different. Some areas are just easier than others. You would think that living in an area where you don’t have competition would be the easiest to get new faux painting business… but this is not usually the case.
You have to understand… that where their is competition… means that is where money is already being spent. Towns that have never had a faux painter available… are often hard to convince one is needed.
If their is already competition in your area… you need to learn how to “Out Compete The Competition“.
You can out compete your competition in a variety of ways:
- Do you have advertising on your car? Do you have small signs to stick in the yard of your customers homes while you are painting. Do you have eye catching business cards? Do you have slick informative sales fliers?
- Do you guarantee your work?
- Do you have clean work habits and publish your clean work ethics?
- Have you gone out and pounded the pavement… everywhere? Every business… every daycare… every restaurant… every place that you can think of?
- Have you communicated with other faux painting professionals. Is their a network you can get involved in?
- Do you wear a t-shirt with your business information printed on it every time you are in public? Does your husband? Do your friends? Why not?
If you haven’t tried all of these… and your complaining about not having any business… then your are not ready to start thinking about starting a faux painting business. The End.
